Kurzweil Forte Overview
The Forte from Kurzweil is an 88-key stage piano featuring Japanese and German grand pianos, vintage ’77 and ’73 tine electric pianos, wurly, clav, harpsichord, celeste, and more. A total of 16 GB of samples can be instantly loaded via the company’s Flash-Play technology, and triggered via the fully weighted hammer-action keyboard with aftertouch.
Additionally, the keyboard contains the B3 ToneReal organs modeled after classic Hammond, Vox and Farfisa units, with organ tones adjustable via nine realistic drawbars with LED ladders. Twenty-three programmable physical controllers provide detailed editing functions of both the sounds and the extensive effects. The user interface has been enhanced by the addition of a widescreen color LCD display.
A dedicated front-panel master EQ and compressor aid in sculpting the sounds. The effects engine includes reverbs, delays, choruses, flangers, phasers, distortions, rotary amplifiers, compressors, and more. Effect chains, sixteen-part multitimbral, four independent zones, full USB implementation and full MIDI connectivity make the Forte a complete package. A cross platform software editor is also available.
